It was late in the afternoon by the time Sophie’s parents arrived. Margot had almost finished half a box of chocolates and the puzzle which she had got for her birthday. It was only a thousand pieces, too easy really but it was satisfying nonetheless. Sophie’s mother scoffed at it when she saw it almost completed.
